Nigerian Federal High Court sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment.
He was convicted on different terrorism related counts, which includes
1- Inciting violence via broadcasts.
2 - Giving instructions on how to make bombs to be used against government facilities.
3 - Issuing and enforcing sit-at-home orders in Nigeria’s southeast, which disrupted movement and economic activities.
4 - Profiting from or leading a proscribed organization (IPOB) and acting as its leader.
5 - Threatening people who disobeyed his orders.
6 - Incitement to kill security personnel (police, militOn 20 November 2025, a Nigerian Federal High Court sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment.
