THE SON AND THE SUN. A HISTORY OF CHRISTMAS. Pt 2.

There are many spiritual, moral and ethical things we do that are not in the bible. Their absence in the bible doesn't make them bad. There are also things in the bible we don't do, we shouldn't even do at all.

Most Christian churches celebrate Pentecost every year. No where in the Bible is it mentioned that the apostles gathered again with the new converts to celebrate Pentecost. The celebration of Pentecost yearly was instituted by the church, and rightly so because she has the authority. Same with Lent, Good Friday and easter. Is there anywhere it's recorded in scripture that believes observed them? it's the Church that instituted those celebrations, and rightly so.

You gather people for crossover prayer every 31st December and you will come and ask where is Christmas in the bible? Where is crossover service in the bible? Even the Jews who had the original celebration didn't do all night vigil, they celebrate Passover every year, but not vigil. I can't condemn the crossover people do simply because it's not in the bible. Those who believe in it should do their thing, I don't have issues at all. Issues arise when someone uses the bible to make crossover a necessity for success for anyone who wants to succeed the new year, then we shall argue.

Crossover at best is an adaptation of the Passover event, an application of the text. If you look for crossover vigil in the bible, you ain't gonna see it, but if you understand that it's an application, you would sound unreasonable to ask where is it in the Bible.

At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we commemorate the Word made flesh. Let me go and eat more Christmas rice and stew joor. Merry Christmas once more. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️
