Many of us have read or heard about the electric fish. This fish emits electricity, which is one of its unique abilities. Now read with me some of the things you may not know about this specie of fish.

1. Electric eel has a very unpleasant sight. They are most believed to be blind but while this is mostly not agreed, one thing is certainly sure— Electric Eels can not see clearly.

2. So, because of their sight and in other not to be caught unaware by predators, Whenever the animal is under attack, it activates an electric field of up to 860 volts (that is nearly four times the 220V electricity supplied to our homes) to electrocute its attacker. This same special power is what they uses to prey on other aquatic creatures.

3. Unlike many fishes that uses their gills for breathing, the Electric fish do use their mouth for breathing by opening and closing at interval.

4. The Eel also requires rising to the surface of the water every 10 minutes in order to take in oxygen before going back under the water. Due to this routine, the fish has developed a mindset that it is vulnerable to attack due to constant coming up to breathe, and hence it is always on a ‘suspicion mission’ – it is always and constantly electrocuting its environment, even when it is not under attack.

5. Now, this frequent occurrence of electrocuting of its environment also has a bad effect on the eels itself, as it affects the eels’ eyes which also gets electrocuted, and hence its blindness!

6. This fish is mostly found in South America but it can also be found in some more part of the world. It is also in Nigeria, called Eja ojiji by the Yorubas.

Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on earth.

One Komodo dragon can reach up to 10 feet, that’s about half as tall as a giraffe in length and weigh more than 300 pounds.

Komodo dragons eat anything flesh and there is nothing that looks like flesh that they can't eat. They rob graves to consume co**se.

Komodos clear of the carcasses left over by lions and other carnivores and they even eat their own offsprings. That's why baby Komodo dragons hide on the tree or roll in poo so that when adult Komodos perceive them, they won’t be able to eat them as they would be smelly to eat.

Komodos are venomous. A prey bitten by a Komodo is weakened by the excess toxins introduced into its body system through the bite, causing massive heavy shock.

Any animal bitten by Komodos can't survive for long even if it escapes from their location.

One other fact about this animal is that they don't necessarily need the males to reproduce.
