A peep into the noun identification story book I made for a year 2 learner.

This I did to enable him see the interrelatedness of Mathematics and English.

I encourage other educators to adopt integration of two subjects into one lesson as part of the effective practical steps in the implementation of the curriculum.

I am not an ordinary tutor, I am a warrior, a destiny shaper, I am not just a subject tutor..

I am the teacher your child deserves.
I deliver engaging, realistic and fun mathematics lessons for YR 2- YR12 learners.

When one of my learner's mother reached out to me concerning the projects he had been given in school, something in me told me "you can do it " .
As a woman in the field of mathematics, pulling this off means a lot to me being that it's the very first time .

I had to find the circumference of the cut out circular part to have a perfect round about base.

I used ratio and proportion to determine the heights of the buildings: heights of the round about, the road median, the height of the traffick light, the height of the street light etc.

I used bearing and mensuration to determine the position of the buildings, and the four roads around the junction etc.

This is not the entire scenery but this a QUADRANT OF APPLE JUNCTION, AMUWO LAGOS with a feminine touch ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€.

It was so refreshing to practically show my student that mathematics is everyday life . I am not an architect or something but mathematics helped me do this.

Along side this transport scene, I also made a NOUN story book, An ADJECTIVE album, a triangular prism -shaped Daily routine for children, a solar system...13 overwhelming projects and counting...

I pride myself in going extra for my learners
I am not an ordinary tutor and I'm humbled by God's help ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
On a scale of 1 to 10, please family ๐Ÿ’•of The Learning Lounge with Mrs Lawrence rate this and please ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ share . I look forward to hearing from you.

Many years of doing mathematics builds something called cognitive reserve (the brainโ€™s backup capacity).๐Ÿค”

STORY TIME: WHEN โ€œHELPโ€ IS NOT HELP

Few years ago, while teaching in a school, I witnessed something that shook me.
Exams were going on, and the management quietly pulled teachers aside. Their words were clear:
๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œMake sure the children donโ€™t FAIL. Walk around and guide them. If possible, give them the answers. Their parents must see good results.โ€

Especially during WAEC and JAMB down, some teachers are literally forced to write these exams for students. This is no help at all!

It is robbing the children of honesty. It is teaching them that shortcuts are better than effort.
It is training them to believe that grades matter more than learning.

So hereโ€™s the hard question for us as parents and educators:
๐Ÿ“Œ When schools force teachers to aid students during exams, are we really โ€œhelpingโ€ children succeed, or are we preparing them for failure in life? How can a teacher stay loyal to her principle?

Because the truth is, one day there will be no teacher whispering the answers. One day, it will be lifeโ€™s real test and no one cheats that.

So the question is;
1. Should parents be happy with high scores that were not earned?

2. Should teachers obey such instructions or stand their ground?

3. Should expensive school fees be a reason not to have failures during exams?

Letโ€™s be honest, these things happen more often than we admit.

I would love to hear your thoughts parents, teachers, and even students.
๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop your opinion. Letโ€™s talk about it.
