The Medical Director ISolo General Hospital Dr Godwin Akhabhoa has enjoined Staff of the hospital to make patients' well-being their utmost concern. Speaking at an interactive session with staff on grade level 7-10, he told the staff who turned out in their large number to always put themselves in the shoes of patients whose minds are hardly settled because of their health conditions. Speaking further, the Medical Director /CEO) told the staff that they are the largest number and must always do the right thing at all times because the success of the smooth running of the hospital depends on them. Dr Akhabhoa also told them that they are very dear to his heart for this reason they must have a good attitude and be professional in whatever they do.

Akhabhoa, Isolo General Hospital Medical Director, wins three awards

The indefatigable Medical Director/CEO of Isolo General Hospital, Dr. Godwin Akhabhoa has won a total of three out of five Service Charter awards of the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

Dr. Akhabhoa received the awards yesterday at Alausa, Ikeja during the launching of Service Charter for three more Health Facilities in the State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris, while presenting the awards poured encomiums on the Medical Director, saying that he was not surprised Dr. Akhabhoa won the awards. The Health Commissioner said the rare feat achieved by the Medical Director was a confirmation of avalanche of commendation and recommendations which he has been receiving from patients and other stakeholders concerning Isolo General Hospital.

The three awards won by Dr Akhabhoa are: Best Performing Chartered Facility Medical Director for year 2017; Best Performing Health Facility for year 2017 and the Best Improved Chartered Health Facility for year 2017.

Early this year, Isolo General Hospital under the leadership of Dr Godwin Akhabhoa, emerged the best General Hospital in Lagos State. The letter of commendation written to Dr. Akhabhoa by the Lagos State honourable health commissioner, Dr. Jide Idris reads in part, "In recognition of your facility's satisfactory performance as evidenced by the scorecard presented for your facility and being one of the two facilities to score above 60 percent average, your leadership skills are indeed worthy of commendation."

The staff and patients of the hospital burst into jubilation when the news of the awards was received in the hospital. A cross section of both staff and patients said that Dr Akhaboa and the hospital deserve the awards. The medical Director, Dr Godwin Akhaboa who was overwhelmed with joy went round the hospital today thanking the staff and patients for their support and cooperation.
