THE LILY

The lily shines radiantly,
Even in the dirty mire.
It beams brilliantly in its immaculate glow,
Oblivious of its surrounding soot.

In tenderness and warmth, it shoots.
It flexes and spreads in sweetness.
It folds and spins like the sky,
In its readiness for a teeming downpour.

Its flawless glow — a subtle reminder,
A reality that resonates profoundly
E’en though it grows in the mire,
It’s made uniquely different from the rest
That competes in the same habitat.

Its inviting splendour and fragrance,
A balm that soothes ailing minds.
Its gleaming shine — a beauty to behold,
A wonder that arrests men in their gaze.

Incredibly fashioned and designed
To show forth the Creator’s artistic taste,
A strong flair for variety and aesthetic,
To defy men’s vain glory.

The lily, with its cleansing effect,
Mops up pollutants to release freshness
That pervades and refreshes its surroundings.
And every plant in its goodness rejoices.

Are you stuck in depravity?
With a consciousness of uniqueness?
Do you trudge daily to retain purity
Your hallmark: born different

THEN

You are made to glow like the lily.
You were transformed to shine forth,
With a robe of righteousness as your tool
To cleanse the depravity around you.

It’s time to arise and beam
The glory of the Invisible Hand
That controls the universe from His throne
That we may rejoice in His redemption.

Do you give thanks for His work of grace in their lives?
Do you even take time to give thanks for yourself, your spouse, your children, the members of your congregation?
Are you a member, a disciple, or a follower,
Do you give thanks to God for your leader or pastor?
