We made this cake for my woodwork artisan of almost 30 years!  I don't remember who introduced him to me, but I remember saying to myself that this man's work makes sense! He was the one who did all the woodwork in my very first tiny kitchen when I started baking cakes as a business and many a time, whenever he was around, he would double up as our fondant machine! The guy could effortlessly knead 10kg of fondant at a go! And he wouldn't collect a dime!
Fast forward to the present day, he still does all our woodwork for family, friends, and businesses.

Did I mention that he's extremely proficient in gravity defying structures!💪🏽. So when he said he wanted to celebrate his birthday, it was payback time! He wasn't rolling out the drums, and all he was expecting was a simple buttercream cake. We decided to do this instead!

I made this cake for a dear friend and sister.
The design was chosen by her five sons, and it could not have been more apt. If anyone can be described as a pillar, it is her. Come rain, come shine, through the storms of life, she stands upright in quiet strength, resilience, and elegance drawing from the power of the Almighty.
As Psalm 144: 12 says , she is a daughter like a graceful pillar, carved to beautify a palace.

Jeremiah 1:18-19 NKJV 'For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar... They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”
