Oh, Africa!

Two brothers from the same family but fighting for different countries.

Before France and Ivory Coast faced off, the Doué brothers shared an emotional moment. It was a reminder of Africa's complicated history and the lasting impact of colonialism.

One brother represents France. The other represents Ivory Coast. Both are products of African talent, yet too often the continent watches its brightest minds, athletes, innovators and professionals flourish elsewhere.

Beyond what we saw lies a deeper question: How much more could Africa achieve if more of its talents had the opportunities, systems and support to build their futures at home?

Africa is blessed with extraordinary potential.

The challenge is creating an environment where that potential can thrive on the continent and contribute to its growth and development.

The story of the Doué brothers is not just about football. It is a reminder that Africa must continue to invest in its people, nurture its talents and build a future where success does not always require leaving home.

Although currently ranked 76 in the world, Quadri was at his best to defeat French table tennis sensation, Flavien Coton at the ongoing WTT Contender Skopje 2026.

Coton ranked 19 in the world got eliminated by one of the finest table tennis player that came out of Africa.

21-year-old Bewene Abdullahi played like someone who could have an important role to play in the Super Eagles setup.
