Why does the gospel meet so much opposition?

What is it about the preaching of the gospel of Jesus that offends people to the point that governments are willing to deprive their citizens the right of freedom of religious belief?

I've never heard of any other "religion" being banned or disallowed in any society except Christianity.

The mention of the name of Jesus is so offensive to some that they may maim or even kill to silence the speaker. After the resurrection of Jesus, the Jewish leaders paid the soldiers guarding Jesus's tomb to spread a false testimony of the events that took place.

WHAT EXACTLY IS SO OFFENSIVE ABOUT THE GOSPEL???

It's not the preacher being resisted but the person he's preaching about.

Think about it. ONLY A LIVING PERSON CAN BE RESISTED! JESUS IS ALIVE, and HE is the only way!!!
