I AM A MUSLIM

My name is Ismaheel.

Today, I stand before the world with my head held high to say something many people may find strange:

I am a Muslim, but I do not practice the Islam of killers.

I do not practice the religion of kidnappers, murderers, rapists, and bandits.

I do not follow the Islam that spills innocent blood and then hides behind the sacred words of faith.

No.

I am a Muslim, and I practice the Islam brought to humanity by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

My Muhammad is different from yours.

The Muhammad I know taught mercy, not cruelty.

The Muhammad I know fed the hungry, protected the weak, honored women, and forgave his enemies.

The Muhammad I know never raised a sword against innocent people.

I am a Muslim.

I worship Allah.

But let it be known that my Allah is not the Allah of bandits.

The Allah I worship commands justice, compassion, honesty, and peace.

The Allah I worship says in the Qur’an:

“Whoever kills a soul unless for justice, it is as if he has killed all mankind.” (Qur’an 5:32)

My Qur’an is not the Qur’an of criminals.

My Qur’an warns against murder.

My Qur’an forbids stealing.

My Qur’an condemns oppression.

My Qur’an commands truthfulness.

My Qur’an teaches kindness to parents.

My Qur’an orders us to care for orphans and the needy.

My Qur’an forbids betrayal.

My Qur’an condemns corruption.

My Qur’an teaches patience, forgiveness, humility, and self-control.

My Qur’an tells me to respect the sanctity of human life.

My Qur’an teaches that the best among people are those who are most beneficial to others.

So tell me:

Which Qur’an are these killers reading?

Which Muhammad are they following?

Which Allah are they claiming to serve?

Because the Islam I know does not celebrate bloodshed.

The Islam I know does not kidnap schoolchildren.

The Islam I know does not r**e women.

The Islam I know does not burn villages.

The Islam I know does not turn tears into rivers and graves into gardens.

A wolf may wear a sheep’s skin, but it remains a wolf.

Likewise, a criminal may shout “Allahu Akbar,” but shouting the name of God does not make evil holy.

Gold does not become iron because thieves carry it.

Water does not become poison because someone uses it to drown another.

And Islam does not become terrorism because criminals misuse its name.

I am a practicing Muslim.

I found the truth before the lies began to spread.

My faith is not built on hatred.

My faith is built on mercy.

My faith is not built on violence.

My faith is built on peace.

My faith is not built on destruction.

My faith is built on righteousness.

Judge me by my character.

Judge me by my actions.

Judge me by the way I treat people.

Is Ismaheel a bandit?

Is Ismaheel a killer?

Is Ismaheel a kidnapper?

Capital No!!!

Because if being Muslim automatically makes one a criminal, then answer this honestly:

Do you not have Muslims in your family?

Have they harmed you?

Have they killed anyone in the name of Islam?

If not, then who are these people committing atrocities while claiming to represent a religion that condemns their actions?

The time has come to separate faith from falsehood, truth from propaganda, and religion from criminality.

A tree should not be judged by a few rotten fruits hanging from its branches.

Millions of Muslims across the world wake up every day to pray, work honestly, raise families, help neighbors, and contribute positively to society.

They are not killers.

They are not terrorists.

They are not bandits.

Once again, let me say it loud and clear:

I AM A MUSLIM.

Not the Muslim of hatred.

Not the Muslim of violence.

Not the Muslim of bloodshed.

I am a Muslim of peace, mercy, justice, and compassion.

And that is the Islam I will continue to practice until my last breath.
