The eclipse of my sunny side up.

I had planned this the night before. How I would wake up, brush, attend to my duties and make breakfast.

Breakfast today was long awaited. I make my breakfast and find a lounge position especially on the weekend and enjoy it slowly. Topped with hot or warm chocolate drink(milo). I had a really hectic week and was looking forward to the simple pleasure of some toast and sunny side eggs (well done). I had set my tray, I was just to move each food as it was ready to the plate.

I started with the toast, I made 4slices of bread. Boiled water and made my milo. Put the frying pan on the cooker, light up, oil in and waited for it to heat up.

Ping! I heard a message come in on WhatsApp, left the kitchen to read the message. Ran back to the kitchen, the oil was hot and ready. I broke the first egg; sprinkled salt, adjusted the flame to medium.

Ping! Again my message came in. The message was so captivating I couldn't resist the immediate response. I started typing, I would get a reply and laugh 😂. I smelt smoke and wondered who was burning refuse or had forgotten food on the... I left the phone, ran to the kitchen and turned off the fire. Quickly, I scooped the egg out of the pan. Sadly, I looked at my ruined egg.

Needless to say, I did not lounge to have his breakfast. The smell had spoilt the fresh air of the morning and I had lost the mood.
