Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has been arrested at an airport by U.S. troops who recently arrived in Nigeria, while allegedly attempting to flee the country to Turkey.

Sources say Gumi was taken into custody in a hurried attempt to leave Nigeria following allegations linking him to the support of terrorist groups and their camps.
