Ages Oak

When Nathan got home, he met his grandpa in high spirit. The old man was in the gym working out– playing his favourite old school music.

Nathan greeted him and was about to leave. He called him back. He Lackadaisically walked up to him.

"Have a seat son"

The old man said, hiting his palm on the stool.

Nathan sat.
The old man sat beside him.

"There is something I'll want to tell you son"

He said to him.
Nathan nodded in anticipation to hear what he had got to tell him.
They maintained a long eye contact for a couple of seconds before the old man broke the silence.

"Son; I think I've found love"

He said to him looking very happy. Nathan had already seen that coming. He wasn't surprised, but he acted like he was.
He already knew that his old man will fall for Clara the very moment he heard him told her on the phone that she had passed his test before he wired her some money immediately.

"Wow. That's very awesome. Who's the lucky woman?"

He asked.

"The very one you dropped in her house this morning"

He said looking deep into Nathan's eyes. To Nathan's widest imaginations, he never expected that his old man would know that he was the one who dropped Clara.

His countenance changed immediately that the old man noticed that he wasn't comfortable anymore.

"Are you surprised that I know?"

He asked.

Nathan only forced a smile and never said a word to answer him.

"And.....
why would you volunteer to take her home when we have drivers?"

He inquired.

"I was going to a place that morning when she came out of the house and I volunteered to give her a lift....
Is anything wrong with that?"

He asked.

The old man waited for a while, observing his body language, to find any reason to doubt what he had told hìm. But; Nathan's eyes never blinked, he was steady and didn't act nervous.

"It's okay. That's very kind of you. It's good to help people"

He finally said.

"Okay"

Said Nathan.

"But; did you go inside her house?"

The old man continued.

"I don't understand grandpa; am I to answer this question?"

He asked.

"Yes, because you wasted so much time when you left"

He said.

"I thought; I've told you earlier that I was going to somewhere before I offered to help her"

He came again.

"Yes, Yes, yes son"

I said.

"But, come to think of it, Grandpa, how long have you known her?"

He asked.

"That doesn't matter,..
I put a trap for her and she didn't fall for it. That's my criteria, not how long"

He said.

"If that's all, I wished you the best of lock Pa"

He said thinking of how he almost Kna¢k£d the gurl that his grandpa is falling for. The old man smiled at him.

"Does that mean that you supported me to go ahead?"

He asked.

Nathan waited for a while. He knew his grandpa very well, he's crafty, manipulative and intelligent. He wouldn't want to fall into an ambush, he said.

"To me; that Gùrl is way too y0ung for a man like you.

Secondly, $he looks like all those gurls you used to pick from h00kup apps.

Thirdly, we don't know h¢r too well.
Until these three questions are cleared, I'll still be hanging on a balance"

His words hits the old man in the way he never expected. He was waiting for him to give him a straight answer but he went deeper than he thought.

"In terms of age; any w0m@n above 18 is good to go. W0men are not like men, who need personal experiences to grow.

Nathan whispered.

"You know it was him?"

She asked.
He nodded in agreement.

"He said that you passed the test?"

He asked.

"Did you hear that?"

She wondered.

"His voice leaked through your speakers. I heard everything"

He maintained.

"What did he mean by, I've passed the test?"

She asked.

"It's like you didn't steal his money?"

He asked.

"No, I didn't touch anything"

She replied.

"He found you worthy.
Every other gurls he brought home stole his money. And he never got to call them back.

But you,... You didn't. That's why he called you and send you some money.
He will be needing your $ervice$ often.

I'll say; from now, you are his main ¢hick"

He said to her.

Clara's face went heavy.
She knows what being his main ¢hick means. It's going to affect the relationship she's hoping to build with his grandson.

"I don't like that.....
I should have st0len his m0ney if I had known that it was going to be like this"

She said.

"But you are not a thi£f"

He said.

"I rather thi£f once to be in the arms of the m@n I sincerely l0ved, than to be a saint and be s@d"

She opined.

Nathan paused for a while.
He couldn't understand why Clara is so obsessed about him. He's very sure that she's feeling him just the way he's feeling her, but he's scared, because of the nature of her job.

He never imagined d@ting a h00kùp gurl. And he don't even know what is giving her the guts to shoot h£r shot despite the fact that they met in the face of her hustle.

He thought of how he went all out to convince his grandpa's driver to let him drove her home, with the aim of knowing where she lives; from there, he would come later, to woo her.

He realized that Clara is desperate to have him, just as he is to have her. He measured the energy and discovered that it was him who have put up more effort to get close to her.

"Am I that important to you?"

He inquired.

She smiled.

"You have no Idea how much I loved you"

She said.

"Really?"

He teased her.

"And;.... I know that you couldn't get me off your mind after we met last night. That's why you disguised as a driver to take me home. You couldn't stop thinking about me,.... right?"

She laughed

"No grandson of a billionaire would act like a driver, to take home a girl that doesn't mean a thing to him...

Come out of your shell Nathan....

Toast me...
Tell me how much l0ved me.
I know that you do.
I can see it in your eyes"

She said to him convincingly.

Nathan's fingers began to tremble, he didn't imagine that Clara would decipher his moves and motives so easily.
Deep down in his heart, he knew that everything she told him was nothing but the truth.

He liked the fact that Clara was bold, straight to the point, and never beats around the bush.

Him on the other hand was shy, a bit lay back. Wooing Clara according to his plans would take him weeks or months.
But; here he stood with the opportunity he seeks, looking at him eyeballs to eyeballs, asking him to only say "I'm interested in you, and everything becames a history

He motivated his spirit.
He looked deep into Clara's eyes and said.

"I.... I love you the first time I set my eyes on you. I didn't sleep last night; I was thinking about you.

Everything you said is truth.
I drove you home because I wanted to be close to you.
But......"

He said.

"But what...?
There should not be any but....
We are good to go"

She tried to encourage him.

"You don't even know what you've gotten yourself into"

He laughed.

"How do you mean?"

Clara made a serious face.

"Grandpa is a j£alous l0ver.
He l0ves like he 0wns his w0man"

He said.

"I'm not in l0ve with him, what we did was business. He paid and I serviced him. That's all"

She replied.

Nathan smiled.

"Let's see how it goes?"
