Yesterday, we had the privilege of meeting with the Abia State Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. G. C. Ubochi.
Our Founder, okenwe Great , had a productive conversation with the Commissioner on the impact of period poverty on education and discussed practical strategies for addressing this challenge across the state.
We also shared details of our ongoing project in Abia State, implemented in partnership with ServeWell and Imara Haki Ambassadors. Through this initiative, we aim to reach 3,000 girls across 6 schools with menstrual hygiene education, menstrual products, and period-friendly facilities in selected schools. This effort is part of our commitment to supporting the State Government in creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for both the boys and girls.
We are delighted to have received the Commissioner's support for our recommendations and vision of improving menstrual health and ensuring that no girl misses educational opportunities because of her period.
We look forward to a fruitful partnership with the Ministry of Education as we work together to address period poverty and advance period equity in Abia State.
Together, we can ensure that every girl manages her period with dignity, confidence, and equal access to education.
