How would you explain God in a state where there is no clear vision of Him. There will be distorted view and perception of the Almighty. Hence, a description devoid of the truth becomes inevitable. Such was the experience in 1Samuel 3:1-end. Samuel doesn't know God by his voice and he has not been told by the aged priest in the house. It's been a long time now that the priest experienced divine leading. He had some smartness off his sleeves to suggest or determine the right direction. Just a normal human way of saying this is what God has done or is doing.
Isaiah the prophet had a different dept of knowledge which gave way to the highest level of prophetic operations. In chapter 6, "I saw the Lord sitting on the throne" is a clue to the kingship. But that's the human view and possible explanation per time. Jacob in Gen 28:11-12 saw The Lord standing.
How do you see the Lord?
