[Be strong, be strong, let us be strengthened].

Seasons change, tides swell and return, but God remains the same as His words, as it is written: “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isaiah 40:8). And humanity is not consumed because He did not decree it. So, every day we rise at dawn, we celebrate the miracle of life and be extremely grateful to God who keeps us alive and well, especially in these turbulent times. He remains faithful in His promise upon us.

So even as viral infections and political landscapes continue to redefine life as we know it, may we remain steadfast in HASHEM, For His faithful promise says “HaShem will swallow up death for ever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of His people will He take away from off all the earth; for HaShem hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 25:1-6). So, be strong and know for surety that the days come, as it is written: “And it shall be said in that day: 'Lo, this is our God, for whom we waited, that He might save us; this is HaShem, for whom we waited, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9). Amen.

Be safe. Take care of yourself and loved ones. May peace, justice and equity reign.

Every day gives us an opportunity to begin anew, to correct and repair, to grow and become better, to heal and to achieve. The Sabbath is much more so than any other day because it holds in its fold immense blessings and opportunities for reborn. So, this is our prayer this Sabbath: “O HaShem, Thou art our God, we will exalt Thee, we will praise Thy name, for Thou hast done wonderful things; even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth.” (Isaiah 25:1).

As we keep the Shabbat, we mustn’t fail to recount His enduring goodness, for keeping us safe, alive, and well in these very turbulent and virus beleaguered times. We also include the fervent prayer that God will, in His compassionate mercy, heal the world and bring an end to every pestilence, pandemic, conflict and war. Let us therefore keep from defiling the Shabbat and remember that more than we have kept the Shabbat, the SHABBAT has kept us as a people, together, and safe from annihilation.

May HASHEM, the Eternal One, blessed is He, grant that we experience the limitless joy of the holy Shabbat and through it, bring peace to our borders and shower His blessings upon our leaders that they may lead the nation(s) in righteousness, with equity and justice. Amen.
