I used to have this Mr Independent mindset where I would just pick my keys and disappear to handle my day. In my head it was not a big deal. I was not doing anything wrong. One day it hit me that if something went wrong on the road, the first person who needs to know where I am is my wife. That is partnership, not control.

Now I am learning to send that simple message saying I have landed, I am heading to this meeting, I am back at the hotel. It may sound small, but it builds trust and gives her peace. She does the same for me. It is not about checking on each other like police. It is about becoming accountable so that the two truly walk together as one team with shared information.
