It is time to tell the world that our universe is not a scientific universe, that the laws of science tell only one side of the story. The world was made for love, by love, founded on love for the pleasure of the Son of God. Truth cannot be expressed through mathematics any more than a human being can. Knowing how old I am, how much I weigh and a few of my other vital statistics does not mean that you know me. The true me only flashes out from time to time in what I do. The truth is like that. One side of it may be examined by rational processes, in the laboratory or by chemistry and physics, but there's more to it. There is a nature in men and women which cannot be uncovered by the surgeon's scalpel. Our personalities respond to the power behind creation: the love of God. That is the way we are made and that is why the gospel impacts us profoundly. “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
