We are excited to announce the opening of our new cashew processing facility situated in Benin City, Edo State. This processing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and a production capacity of 5,400 MT per annum. This development reaffirms our commitment to sustainably scale up cashew processing, create jobs, and improve livelihoods for farmers and communities.

At the launch ceremony, the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, said: The State Government is extremely pleased with the bold and innovative initiatives that Farmforte has developed and undertaken. We are reassured that the company will continue to encourage young people to be enterprising.”

Uyi Osayimwense, Farmforte co-Chief Executive Officer, iterated quality assurance as a major KPI in our operations. “At Farmforte, we are reinventing Nigeria’s cashew industry by investing in a world-class processing plant which can process large amounts of cashew at export standard. Presently, we source raw cashew from local smallholder farmers and make sure Kernel out-turn ratio (KOR) is 49 and upwards to ensure maximum quality”.

Nigeria is one of the leading global cowpea producers with 39% production in 2016-18.

With our processing facility, we are enhancing food security in Nigeria, this facility has a production capacity of 40 MT per day, where we currently process three different varieties: brown, white, and butter beans.
