The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), a 170-bed healthcare facility in Abuja, is being developed by Afreximbank in partnership with King’s College Hospital, London.

Scheduled for completion in June 2025, the facility will provide advanced medical services in oncology, cardiology, haematology, and general healthcare.

According to Afrieximbank, the project is expected to address critical gaps in West Africa’s healthcare system, reduce Nigeria’s $1 billion annual medical tourism expenditure, and support economic development by creating 3,000 jobs and enhancing infrastructure in the Apo-Kabusa area.

The development was announced in January 2025, with ITB as the General Contractor for the development. Sixth Form will commence in Q3:2025, with the Senior School opening in Q3:2026.
