CALL FOR INTERNS // QDANCECENTER.

As part of our drive for Social Responsibility and Talent Development, we propose a 5 month (August - December) internship program in Strategy & Management.

IDENTIFICATION.

This year, the QDanceCenter is seeking highly motivated, detail oriented, eager to learn, creative, self-starter, and enthusiastic art lover who are interested and qualified in any of the following fields:

• Business Development Tasks
• Cultural Administrative Tasks
• Cultural Management Tasks
• Communications and PR Tasks

To join our strategy and management team.

QUALIFICATIONS.

• University, polytechnic graduate (or it’s equivalent); or studies in progress.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Personable and professional demeanor
Interpersonal skills
• Good management skills
• Practical, problem solving skill
• Commitment to our mission.

INSTRUCTOR- Onye Ozuzu is a dance administrator, performing artist, choreographer, educator and researcher currently serving as Dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts at Columbia College Chicago. She has been actively presenting work nationally and internationally since 1997. She is currently a Chicago Dance Makers Forum 2016/17 Lab Artist working on developing a new work, Project Tool. She was recently commissioned by Links Hall Constellation to create work with composer, Greg Ward, based on Charles Mingus’ album The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady. The new work, Touch My Beloved’s Thought premiered at the Pritzger Stage in Millenium Park, Chicago as a part of the “Made in Chicago” festival August 13, 2015 and has received multiple awards honorable mention both for choreography and music composition (available on Greenleaf music).
