Basic writing skills

Here are some of the basic writing skills that are essential for children to develop :

~~ Fine motor skills: These skills involve the coordination of small muscles, which are necessary for holding a pencil or pen and forming letters.
Letter recognition and formation: Children need to be able to recognize and form the letters of the alphabet correctly.

~~ Phonics: This is the understanding of the relationship between sounds and letters, which is essential for decoding and encoding words.

~~ Spelling: Children need to be able to spell words correctly, which can be learned through phonics, memorization, and practice.

~~ Sentence structure: Children need to be able to construct sentences that are grammatically correct and make sense.

~~ Punctuation: Children need to be able to use punctuation marks correctly, such as periods, commas, question marks, and exclamation points.

~~Capitalization: Children need to be able to use capital letters correctly, such as at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns.
