We visited The Destitute Home, Okobaba, Lagos, for a community outreach focused on skin cancer and mental health awareness.

What we developed as a simple outreach grew into a comforting experience filled with honest conversations, laughter, learning, singing, and shared moments across generations of families within the community.

Through conversations held in English, Pidgin, and Hausa, we spoke about:
• skincare and self-care
• skin protection and hygiene
• mental and emotional wellness
• accessible wellness habits within everyday living

One of the most beautiful parts of the day was seeing how openly people engaged, asked questions, shared their experiences, and connected through conversations about mental health and wellness.

At MY Lab Africa, we believe beauty should go beyond products. It should also look like care, education, dignity, access, and community.
