In general, grants are given based on financial-need, while scholarships are merit-based and awarded to students based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, field of study, and more.

Tuition funds are the more commonly-used type of financial assistance.

The difference between loans and a grant or scholarship is that they’re not “free” and need to be repaid, with interest.

However, they often have fewer requirements to qualify and are in greater supply, so they’re accessible to a broader range of people.

Dear ,

There are a lot of myths thrown around about studying overseas.

Similarly, some facts may be confused as myths.

it's best to have all the facts about studying in the country you are interested in.

🚫Myth 1. studying in Canada is very cheap. While there are a lot of scholarship and funding opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, average tuition fees in Canada are not relatively cheap.

🚫 Myth 2. not many immigrants study in Canada. Canada happens to be the country with the most diverse immigrants in the world, and Canadian universities top the list for study destinations in the world.

🚫Myth 3. you can pay off your tuition completely while studying. While you can do anything as long as you believe, having a study visa means you are allowed limited work hours weekly. You also need time to study to excel at your degree, while paying other living expenses. So yeah, it's usually better to have some financial backup
