*Topic: Trust and the Joy of Resurrection*

In the Book of Psalms 16:5–11, the psalmist shows deep trust in God, believing that God will guide him, protect him, and not abandon him even in death. It’s highlights the joy and security found in staying close to God with hope in eternal life.

In the Gospel of Luke 24:1–10, the women discover that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. Their sorrow turns into joy as they are called to share the good news. Together, both passages remind us that trusting God leads to life, hope and the joy of resurrection.

*GOOD FRIDAY*

*The Sacrifice of Jesus: Love and Redemption*
In Gospel of Mark 15:21–41, Jesus is crucified after suffering mockery and pain, with Simon of Cyrene helping carry His cross. Darkness comes over the land before He dies, and the temple curtain is torn, showing that His death opened the way for people to come closer to God. Even in His suffering, Jesus remained obedient and fulfilled God’s plan for salvation.

In Mark 15:42–47, Joseph of Arimathea buries Jesus in a tomb. These events show that Good Friday is about Jesus’ sacrifice, as He died out of love to bring forgiveness and salvation to humanity. His burial also prepares the way for the hope of His resurrection.

*HOLY WEDNESDAY*

*Surrender, Truth and Faithfulness*
In Gospel of John 17:1–19, Jesus Christ prays to God just before His crucifixion, asking to be glorified through His obedience and sacrifice. He explains that eternal life is not just about living forever, but about knowing God personally. This shows that true glory comes through surrender to God’s will, not worldly success. During Holy Week, especially on Holy Wednesday, this reminds believers that Jesus was fully focused on fulfilling His mission, even in the face of suffering.

Jesus also prays for His disciples, asking God to protect them, keep them united, and sanctify them through truth. He emphasizes that they are “in the world but not of the world,” meaning they must live differently while still carrying out their mission. This teaches that believers are called to remain faithful, grounded in God’s word, and united with one another despite challenges or pressures. On Holy Wednesday, this connects to the theme of staying loyal to God, even when faced with temptation or betrayal.
