Suitably, Yorubas are a group of people with the same cultural identity in Nigeria, they are forms of the alliance of Ẹ̀gbá, Ijesha, Ìjẹ̀bú, Ìgbómìnà, Ibolo, Osun, Ọ̀yọ́, Kogi, and other notable Yoruba communities. These entities of dialects, ethnics are known to be Yorubas in the western part of Nigeria, and the Aworis, to dig more than this would cost us more time and space.

Please let us leave history for the historian. Remember I'm a columnist and I will never go beyond my discipline, but I will always narrate the highlight of the history to you. Apology to the Yorubás for instatistical history about them from Columnist Olatunji.

Back to the Yorubás society. They are known to be wealthy traders, successful farmers, with their greenish land, full of resources and all sought of minerals. Yorubás are known to be crafty people. They are very good in art and crafts. That's why they are the leading tribe in the musical industry in whole Africa. Many of the blessings but few to count. Thank God for the Odùduwà for choosing a wonderful part of nature for his descents. Odùduwà! The progenitor of the Yoruba race.

To nail the nail on the button: why are the Yorubás don't engage all the time in physical relative combat, fight or war? Or let me say what my grandmother told me about it; why Yorubás do more of talking in their fights and conflicts. Take a pulse. Now you can dive with me into the streams of wisdom of my grandmother. Grandmother: Yoruba will never fight his friend to stupor. Because they are people of wisdom and virtues.

They respect relationships more than anything. You can see that in their actions when they saw their own.

They speak in words to words in their language. They don't care who's there. Research says they are the most 2nd widely spoken language in Europe. Yorubás believe beating each other's because of materials doesn't worth it. It doesn't worth the relationships.

That's why in another way round you see them backbiting, instead of confronting their frenemies on time. They will table the matter - some people call it solidarity of their tribes. A good example is the 2023 general elections. Yorubás! Èdè Yoruba proper. Yorùbá ní ẹwà èdè lóhùn (Yoruba is very crafty in choice of words, their language, their identity).

They will never fight you unless you pinch them. They will even show you love. The Yorubás will not allow you to intimidate their brother. They will form a cabinet to erase you, and show they care for their tribes men.

Oh! Son of Odùduwà. Keep the love flying in solidarity. These are the psychological wisdom from the tools box of the Odùduwà's descents, and why they don't engage in dirty fight: They respect relationships, they show more love in their society to the native and the foreigner because their ancient wisdom says; Aànfàní òpin sibi kàn, wọn si tún má ní omileyan. The Yorubás are very deep thinkers in many skeptical situations, they resolve issues, conflicts quickly.

And, I think it's one of the reasons business statistics in 2023 posed that their region is the most facilitated environment to start or invest in a business in Nigeria, with non or less terrors in Africa.

The Yorubás will openly judge a thief (ves) and serve them punishment accordingly. They are the people that love to call a spade a spade.

With me today. Lastly, the Yorubás believe that fighting somebody to stupor can be a landlock to other opportunities of relationship in the future. They fear to see their own on ground, or stain on them.

The amazing things about them is that It's hard to see them throwing blows at each other, they will only make noise and go in their different parts. I hope you learned from the wisdom of the sage, and reasons Yorùbás always choose peace over conflict?

Thanks for reading since.

LIFE LESSONS FROM A FATHER TO HIS CHILDREN
1. Understand this, you are entitled to nothing! No one owes you anything after the age of 21 years. If help comes your way, you appreciate it, but after 21 years do not live your life expecting anything from anyone, not even from your parents. That’s the mindset to greatness. You do not deserve anything until you work for it. Everything of value in life should be earned, not given. If your parents are wealthy, that is their wealth, build your own wealth, brand and name.
2. Take personal responsibility of your life and actions. Never blame anyone for your inability to progress. The buck stops with you. Success in life is impossible unless you accept responsibility for your actions. Own your actions and take control of your life.
3. Life is a one-time offer. You only have one life, so make the most of it. You don't have much time as you think.
4. Overnight success is a myth. Success is achieved through slow and steady progress that is long-lasting.
5. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. As you get older, you realize that time is a valuable resource, but it gets scarcer by the day. Spend more time with your loved ones rather than pursuing money all day.
6. Learn how to manage your money
You are the best person to manage your finances.
7.Do not seek validation from others on things you do or plan to do. Be confident in who you are, and work with that.
8. Never stop being a student. Learning is a journey that lasts a lifetime. You must be a lifelong learner because knowledge provides relevance and great opportunities.
9. Comparison is not good. You will never be happy when you compare your journey to other people's.
10. Invest in yourself, invest in Knowledge, skills, investing in yourself yields the greatest return.
11. Upgrade your circle of friends once in a while. If you are not making head way in life, feel free to change your circle. The quality of your surroundings has a big impact on your success.
12. If you realize on time, at least before you turn 21 years, that nobody owes you anything, no uncle brother or sister owes you anything, it is no one's responsibility for you to go to college, graduate, get a job, get married and start your own life. The earlier you realize that you are your own responsibility the further you go in life.
13. Try your best to live within your means if you must go far in life. Don't live your life to please anyone. Don't rent an apartment that you have to borrow money each year to pay. Rent within your reach.
14. Don't fear any man but respect all men. Do not do anything you do not want to do, live your life to please yourself and God. The only time or person that can cause you to compromise is your spouse. Serve God with a pure heart and love your neighbor as thyself.
Remember, Pride goes before a fall. The greatest key to happiness and finding favor before God and man is treating all people equal. Rich or poor, high or low, treat all men equal. Always operate within this principle: The fact that you are privileged does not make you better than others out there. All men are created equal!

HATE SPEECH: Amaka Patience Sunnberger Recorded Making Hate Speech

(Columnist Olatunji Writes from Surulere, Lagos Nigeria. Sat. August 31st, 2024).

On Tuesday. Mrs. Amaka Patience Sunnberger was recorded making malicious statements, threatening to kill Yorubas and Benins in Canada.

In Amaka infamous live recorded transmission on TikTok, she said, "Record me very well; it's time to start poisoning Yoruba and Benin. I'll put poison in your food and water, otapiapia, Ogbomoso, and you'll die one by one." In anyway I don't support her killing statements. It's uncalled for. This is a woman in Canada with this blood sucking heart.

Reading through comments from various media platforms on the unpatriotic incident one would phantom the level of hatred and tribalistic sentiment firing in a country of thousands of ethnicities. Of recently, another post from LagosPedia on X threatened to launch an ' ' attack from August 20th to 30th, 2024, in the southwest of Lagos, Nigeria. To me, this is uncalled for and the federal government need not to take such offensive statements lightly with anyone anymore.

Thankfully, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu responded promptly and curtailed the bigotry post that could have incited civil war and ethnic cleansing. It's time the government needs to start apprehending the syndicate of such frivolity and ensure justice is served. All tribes are entitled to live wherever they choose in Nigeria, as stated in the Nigerian constitution.

Nigerians cannot afford the cost of war anymore. The Nigeria civil war of the late 60's was a great horrendous lesson for all Nigerians. Fast forward to 2001, whereby similar hate speech exacerbated a civil unrest between the Hausa-Fulani minority people and the Yorùbás in Lagos , displacing hundreds of thousands of lives, was also a bad example of the negative effects of peddling hate speech and fake news through social media.

Most of the recorded violence in the history of 21st century was always preceded by hate speech and disinformation on social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, spreading false narratives and sentiment. An example: Countries like Sri Lanka experienced Anti-Muslim riots fueled by social media posts and fake news in 2018. India and Ethiopia also face exacerbated ethnic violence due to similar occurrences in year 2020. Sigh!

With the daily spread of bigotry posts on the internet in Nigeria, the government needs to take a critical action in regulating social media platforms to free Nigerians from hate speech, tribalism, and national disunity and sentiment. The unity of Nigerians is currently at stake.
