The 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration at ASCON
The Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) proudly marked the 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Lush Garden, Phase 1. The event was held under the global theme “Give to Gain,” highlighting the transformative power of generosity in advancing women’s leadership.
The programme commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the National Anthem, followed by welcome remarks from the Director-General. Mrs. Pedepo Babalola delivered an overview of this year’s theme, setting the tone for the day’s discussions.
The keynote address, “Women in Public Service Leadership – The Power of Giving to Gain,” was presented by Barrister Elizabeth Timothy, State Counsel at the Office of the Public Defender, Lagos State. A thought-provoking panel discussion followed, moderated by Mr. Olaolu Adewunmi, with contributions from Barrister Sandra Kwaghfan, Princess Senami Akran, and Mrs. Ajibola Olabimitan.
Participants engaged in an interactive session, after which the Director-General led a Commitment Pledge reaffirming ASCON’s dedication to advancing women’s leadership and mentorship in public service. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Ify Willoughby.
ASCON’s 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration underscored the institution’s commitment to fostering inclusive leadership and empowering women across Nigeria’s public service.

ASCON Hosts Dominican University, Ibadan, for Strategic Collaboration
The Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo-Badagry, on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, received a delegation from Dominican University to explore partnership opportunities aimed at enhancing academic and institutional development.
The delegation expressed interest in ASCON’s expertise, particularly in data management and the shared use of human and physical resources. Key areas of collaboration discussed include:
Guest lectures and participation in seminars,
Student internship opportunities in ASCON,
Support for research projects,
Joint conferences to reduce cost,
Faculty exchange and training seminars,
Public education and awareness initiatives,
Collaborative writing and publications.
During the engagement, the Director-General reaffirmed ASCON’s strong commitment to meaningful partnerships that advance education and public sector capacity
