“During my service in the NYSC in Ondo State, Fulani herdsmen invaded our village in Benue State and killed my mother and younger sister. A military checkpoint is located near the scene of the incident, and the attack lasted for over 20 minutes. Soldiers and police responded after the attack. I lost my mother and sister while serving Nigeria; the country failed me and continues to fail me to this day,” Stella Owogbalor wrote to CREW 67. “I support the Igbo youth who refused to join the Nigerian army. It is better to join the Eastern Security Network (ESN) or any other security group to protect your home from the Fulani. If you rely on Nigerian forces, you will not only lose your home but also your loved ones,” she stated.
