*MAYOR (DR.) EMILAGBA JUBRIL KOLAWOLE FLAGS OFF GROUNDBREAKING OF DRAINAGE PROJECT AT FREEMAN STREET, EBUTE METTA EAST*

Immediately after the Mega Empowerment Programme, the Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mayor (Dr.) Emilagba Jubril Kolawole, proceeded to flag off the groundbreaking of a major drainage project at Freeman Street, stretching from Abeokuta Street to Ibadan Street in Ebute Metta East.

The project is part of ongoing efforts by the administration to address persistent flooding, improve environmental conditions, and enhance the lifespan of road infrastructure within the local government.

Mayor Emilagba noted that the intervention is strategic to safeguarding homes, businesses, and public facilities in the area, especially during heavy rainfall periods. The project reflects the administration’s commitment to sustainable urban renewal and proactive infrastructure development.

Residents and stakeholders at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a timely solution to long standing drainage challenges in the community.

Mayor Emilagba reaffirmed that more infrastructure projects are underway across Lagos Mainland, aimed at improving mobility, safety, and the overall quality of life for residents.
