“Enough Is Enough” — Senators Push Nigeria to Act Over Detained Troops in Burkina Faso

Nigerian senators have called on the federal government and military leadership to take firm action against Burkina Faso over the continued detention of 11 Nigerian soldiers.

During plenary, lawmakers described the situation as degrading and unacceptable, warning that prolonged silence weakens Nigeria’s sovereignty.

“No country allows its troops to be held without explanation,” they said, stressing that the soldiers were on official duty and their detention amounts to a direct affront to Nigeria.
