I watch a video of this story and one thing keeps bothering me

How does a chi|d leave his parents house healthy and full of life, only to end up looking like this under the care of another family?

This happens in Anambra State
The young boy was brought in as a househelp and was allegedly subjected to severe maltreatment by the woman and her husband who were supposed to care for him

But the same house had well-fed and properly cared-for children living comfortably under the same roof

The contrast is difficult to ignore
One chi|d is eating, growing and smiling

Another chi|d is allegedly being treated as if he does not deserve the same care, the same food and the same compassion

A househelp is still someone's child oo

Somewhere, there is a mother who carried that chi|d for nine months
Somewhere, there is a father who hopes that chi|d is safe

No chi|d deserves to be be@ten, starved, neglected or treated as less human simply because he was sent to assist another family

The good news is that the authorities have reportedly stepped in and the couple involved has been arrested

But beyond the arrest, this story should make us reflect on something

If you cannot treat another person's child the same way you would want your own chi|d to be treated, then perhaps you should not bring that chi|d into your home at all

Because care is not just about providing shelter
It is about providing humanity
And every child deserves that

Video is too gory for this space
