LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM ON MENTORSHIP. 2025

TOPIC:
GOD'S PERSPECTIVE ON MARRIAGE.

What is marriage?
Marriage is a legally recognized union between two people.

GOD'S PERSPECTIVE ON MARRIAGE.

According to the Bible, God views marriage as a sacred, lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect His own love and commitment, where couples are meant to be united in a deep, faithful, and sacrificial relationship, with the primary purposes of companionship, procreation, and mutual support; essentially, a reflection of the relationship between Christ and the Church.

NOTE THESE WORDS;
*Companionship
*Procreation
*Mutual support
*Reflection of the relationship between christ and the church.

COMPANIONSHIP:
Companionship is when you feel a sense of closeness being with another person.

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
-- Genesis 2:18.

PROCREATION:
The s*xual activity of conceiving and bearing offspring. The process of producing young animals and human babies.
And Adam had s*x with Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
-- Genesis 4:1

MUTUAL SUPPORT:
Mutual support involves team members assisting one another, providing and receiving feedback on performance, and advocating assertively when patient safety is threatened. Mutual support is essential for successful teamwork.

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
-- Genesis 2:18

REFLECTION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHRIST AND THE CHURCH.
The relationship between Christ and the Church is often described as a "head and body" metaphor, where Christ is the head, leading and guiding the Church, which is considered his body, composed of individual believers united in him; signifying a deep, sacrificial love where Christ actively cares for and nourishes the Church, just as a head cares for its body.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
-- Ephesians 5:23

Marriage is the extension of God's work on earth where your fruits and their branches are expected to continue the work. Marriage is for a purpose and Whatever is not for a purpose" can be described as meaningless, purposeless, futile, irrelevant, or simply "without a reason"; essentially, something that serves no useful function or has no significant impact.

WHY DO ONE GO INTO MARRIAGE?

People enter marriage for a variety of reasons, most commonly driven by a desire for love, companionship, commitment, and stability in a relationship, often with the goal of building a life together and sharing experiences with a partner they deeply care about; other factors can include starting a family, social pressure, religious beliefs, or seeking legal and financial benefits.

May God give you strength and grace to actualize your aim and purpose of marriage so that the decision you made will not stand against you on the last day. Amen
