Many people sabotage themselves because they want the selfish reward of heaven and they are afraid of hell. They are preoccupied with paradise (a destination in the sky that they believe is superior to their current state and life, complete with gold streets and breast milk for men), yet they do not want to go there right away. They are so afraid and insecure that they like threatening people with hell, a place they will also visit if the conditions and prerequisites for constructing paradise are met, which none of them can.
