Yes it's another edition of Science Fun Day 2.0. The last one we had in January 2020 was amazing and memorable. It was a discovery day, lots of ideas were born and we had great feedback from parents.

This edition promises to be fascinating as lots of ideas will unfold during the session.
The whole experiment will be simplified using easy-to-understand steps that will open a new pathway of thought as they go through the session and also watch relevant documentary.

In this hands-on and minds-on activities we will be demonstrating basic technique of how electricity is formed and shared into various homes.A simple storyline of Mr Electron will be used to explain the basic concept of electric charge.

Do not worry your kids are safe as we will be using DC power from batteries.

Looking forward to having your wards experience this real life science.

Science is curiosity.

Curiosity is one of the most important qualities of a good scientist.
The desire to understand and know more flares in their minds all the time.

Curiosity drives knowledge

Curiosity drives scientific research

Curiosity drives innovation

Children are curious by nature. They have open and active minds, they think about versions of a particular thing, they look closely, repeating an action again and again to discover a particular pattern of ideas.

They ask lots of questions and seek answers and that is science.

Children are cognitive scientists!

One of the best ways to help children explore, express, understand emotions, habits and much more is via stories.

Stories are universal, conveying meaning and purpose that help kids understand themselves and the world around them.

As we share different stories of fear, hardship, love, joy and success,we connect and communicate with other people through their story.
Stories educate and sometimes inspire children to take action as they learn about behaviour and consequence.

I stumbled on this old book from my children's library."FLY, CHICK, FLY!
The tittle didn't mean much but the content says a lot. It's a story of an Owl family and the three newly hatched chicks.

The chicks grow, day in ,day out. When it was time to fly, the first one flipped, flapped and he flew. The second chick made effort to fly,and then she flew but the last chick wouldn't even try to fly,she was afraid,
She said
"If I fly, the crow might get me" "If I fly, the rain might wet me" "If I fly, the train might hit me"
"My brother and sister flew and never came back, why would I want to fly"

Each time she says all these, her parents encourage her to fly saying
"You belong in the sky". "Your sister and brother are fine"
"Your sister is at home in the elm tree"
"Your brother is at home in the old birch tree".
"Fly, little chick, just try!" With persistent motivation from the parents, one day,she just crept to the end of the branch, she flapped, flipped and eventually flew.

She was so happy she could fly!

But what became of this last chick?

She found herself in the middle of the beech tree cuddling her first chick!

She was so glad!!! Moral of the story: Think positive,be courageous,be independent,be responsible and don't let yourself down.
And as parent,we keep encouraging our wards,we shouldn't give up, never give up!!!
