As we prepare for this blessed season, let’s remind ourselves what Ileya (Eid al-Adha) is truly about Worship, not Showoff.

It’s not about how people will see you. It’s not about impressing the neighbors. It’s about honoring your Creator with sincerity — through whatever animal you can afford.

Just a few days ago, I had a heartfelt conversation with someone who said, "I slaughter a goat for Ileya and I do it proudly."

The pride comes from the heart! Not because of status. Not because of pressure. But because they understand the essence of the worship behind it.

This post is for those of us who will spend hundreds of thousands of naira celebrating birthdays, throwing parties, and buying fashion — yet when it's time for Ileya, we suddenly say "I don’t have money for a ram."

Worship your Lord with what you can afford.
Goat, ram, cow, or camel — your reward lies in your intention and your sacrifice.
