This week, ChildSphere Development Initiative convened the Orientation Program for the Childrenโ€™s Learning and Empowerment Project โ€“ Phase II in Sauna Community, bringing together selected children, facilitators, and key community stakeholders ahead of the next phase of project implementation.

The session introduced participants to the learning structure, support systems, safeguarding expectations, and the shared responsibilities needed to create a safe and supportive environment for every child in the program.

Beyond the formal discussions, the orientation created a warm and engaging atmosphere where children actively participated, asked questions, and connected with facilitators and peers. Their excitement and confidence reflected a readiness to begin the next phase of their learning journey.

With support from the Luena Foundation, the project continues to strengthen child protection systems, promote inclusive learning opportunities, and build sustainable community support for vulnerable street-connected children.

ChildSphere Development Initiative convened a parent engagement meeting in Sauna Community with parents and caregivers of selected street-connected children under the under the Childrenโ€™s Learning and Empowerment Project โ€“ Phase II.

The meeting provided an opportunity to engage families on the project objectives, implementation structure, child protection considerations, and the important role of parental involvement in supporting positive outcomes for children enrolled in the program.

Supported by Luena Foundation, the project continues to strengthen community-driven approaches that encourage family participation, shared responsibility, and safer support systems for vulnerable children.

During the engagement, parents shared personal experiences and reflections on the realities affecting street-connected children. These insights reinforce the vital importance of strengthening family and community support systems around child protection and development to ensure environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Implementation of the Childrenโ€™s Learning and Empowerment Project โ€“ Phase II continued this weekend in Sauna Community, where ChildSphere Development Initiative progressed with the screening and selection exercise using a digital screening system to improve coordination, strengthen documentation, and ensure that every childโ€™s information is properly captured throughout the process.

Alongside the screening exercise, our team also met with selected vocational trainers who will support the skills development component of the project. The conversations focused on building a shared understanding of the project, child safeguarding expectations, training approach, and the role each trainer will play in supporting the children throughout their learning journey.

These field engagements continue to shape the foundation of the project by strengthening systems, building local ownership, and ensuring that every child enrolled is supported within a safe, structured, and intentional learning environment.

This project is supported by Luena Foundation
