2026 EID EL KABIR SALLAH CELEBRATIONS: KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND URGES PEACEFUL CONDUCT; ISSUES SAFETY ADVISORIES TO CITIZENS

The Kano State Police Command extends its warmest congratulations to the good people of Kano State, particularly the Muslim Ummah, for witnessing yet another Eid El Kabir Sallah celebration. The Command wishes everyone a peaceful, joyous, and hitch-free festivity, and prays for continued peace, security, and prosperity across the state.

In line with directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, Sallah arrangements of the Kano State Government and in collaboration with other joint security agencies, robust security arrangements have been concluded to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid El Kabir Sallah celebration across all parts of the state. The Command remains steadfast and resolute in maintaining law and order before, during, and after the festivities.

Ahead of the commencement of the celebrations tomorrow, 27th May 2026, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, issues the following security and safety advisories to the public:

i. Persons attending Eid grounds are advised not to carry suspicious items that may cause panic or trigger unnecessary apprehension.
ii. Parents and guardians are urged to take proper control and care of their children to prevent cases of missing children and unsolicited accidents during large gatherings.
iii. Motorists are advised to avoid dangerous and reckless driving on highways and within city centers.
iv. Drivers must desist from over-speeding and overloading of vehicles, as these constitute major causes of road accidents.
v. The public is warned against carrying dangerous weapons of any kind during the celebrations.
vi. All citizens are to desist from any act or conduct that may likely cause a breach of peace or breakdown of law and order.
vii. The public is further advised to avoid all forms of hate speech and the spread of fake news on social media platforms.

Unlawful and disorderly behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Citizens are expected to obey all police and security directives, including restrictions on certain activities during the celebration. All security apparatus in the state have been fully activated to deal decisively with anyone who attempts to disrupt the peace.

The Commissioner of Police urges parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against being used by subversive elements to cause trouble. He warned that anyone found disrupting public peace will face the full wrath of the law.
