Shehu S. Sado Honoured at African Youth Parliament as Guest of Honour and Award Recipient in Abuja

The West Africa Youth Parliament (WAYP) hosted its 2026 Regional Security Summit, bringing together youth leaders, policymakers, civil society actors, and development partners to deliberate on youth driven solutions to regional peace, security, and democratic development across West Africa. At the summit, the National President of the Capacity Movement, Shehu Sani Sado, attended as Guest of Honour and was presented with an award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, leadership development, and nation building.

The organisers described him as a visionary leader whose contributions to youth mobilisation, civic engagement, and political inclusion through the Capacity Movement Initiative continue to inspire young people to actively participate in governance, community development, and responsible leadership across Nigeria and the African continent.

In his remarks, Alhaji Shehu S. Sado expressed deep appreciation for the honour and dedicated the award to young Africans striving for a better future. He emphasised the importance of youth unity, political participation, and capacity building in strengthening regional security and sustainable development, while reaffirming the Capacity Movement’s commitment to empowering young people and promoting democratic values across Africa.

The Capacity Movement, under the leadership of our National President Shehu S. Sado, wishes to address a matter of critical importance regarding the upcoming All Progressives Congress primaries in Kaduna State.

It has come to our attention through credible reports that certain council chairmen are being compelled to endorse a specific senatorial aspirant. Such actions violate the established rules and internal democratic processes of the party. The guidelines clearly state that all aspirants must be allowed to participate freely in the primary elections without undue influence or coercion.

No official, including council chairmen, has the authority to impose candidates or pressure party stakeholders to provide endorsements. These actions undermine party unity and compromise the credibility of the primary election process.

In light of this, the Capacity Movement strongly advises all council chairmen and stakeholders to maintain neutrality and uphold fairness by allowing a free and transparent primary election. We remain committed to protecting democratic values within the party and ensuring that every aspirant has an equal opportunity to compete.

Should these unlawful endorsement practices persist, the Capacity Movement will take all lawful and political steps necessary to safeguard internal democracy within the party.

We trust that all parties involved will heed this warning and work collectively to promote a fair and democratic primary election for the benefit of the party and the people it serves.

Signed- National Secretary, Capacity Movement
