"There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me. I spoke to Amorim — he asked me not to go. They didn’t want to sell me. They do not need the money."

🗣️ More on the Al-Hilal offer:

"It was a very ambitious proposal. The president was fantastic. We never discussed the amount at first — that was with my agent. Then I spoke to my wife and family. She asked me what my goals were.

It would’ve been an easy move — João Cancelo is there, our kids are close. But I want to stay at the highest level. I still feel capable of playing in the biggest competitions."
