GOVERNOR MUTFWANG VISITS APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, CONDOLES HIM OVER THE PASSING OF HIS MOTHER, MAMA LYDIA YILWATDA

In a demonstration of compassion and statesmanship, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid a condolence visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, following the passing of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, who died at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness.

Governor Mutfwang, who was at Prof. Yilwatda’s Abuja residence, urged him to take solace in the Lord and in the enduring legacies of fairness, justice, and compassion Mama Lydia exemplified. He described her as a virtuous woman of uncommon faith, courage, and simplicity, who dedicated her life to raising godly children now making positive contributions to humanity.

“For us, the death of any mother on the Plateau is a loss to all of us,” Governor Mutfwang said. “We take comfort in the fact that Mama lived a worthy life. She served the Lord alongside her husband and, even after his passing, continued faithfully in God’s service. My prayer always is that we should be the ones to bury our parents, and not the other way round.”

The Governor further extolled Mama Lydia’s resilience, kindness, strength, love, and sacrifices, noting that her passing at a time when Prof. Yilwatda shoulders enormous national responsibilities leaves a great void.

On behalf of his family, the government, and the good people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt condolences to Prof. Yilwatda, his siblings, and the entire Yilwatda family, praying God to grant them the strength and comfort to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda expressed deep gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for the condolence visit, describing it as a great source of comfort. He eulogized his late mother as a symbol of resilience, faith, and compassion, who devoted her life to raising her seven chi
