Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission Announces Local Government Elections for July 2026
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has officially issued a notice of election, scheduling local government elections for both Chairman and Councillors for July 11, 2026.
The announcement was made via a public notice dated July 11, 2025, in accordance with Section 30 of the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended).
According to the notice, the elections for both positions will occur simultaneously on July 11, 2026. This gives political parties and aspiring candidates just over a year to prepare for the polls.
ADSIEC also specified the venue for the submission of nomination papers. Prospective candidates for the elective offices are directed to submit their papers at the Commission's Headquarters, located at No. 16 Mohammad Ribadu Road, Yola.
The announcement, signed by the Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, sets the stage for political activities to pick up in the state as parties begin to strategise and aspirants declare their intentions for the local government seats.

A SURVIVAL MOVIE THAT KEEPS YOU HOOKED TILL END! (I recommend this movie to every woman to watch)
"Nowhere" is a thought-provoking movie that explores the ups and downs of life, reminding us of its unpredictability. It delves into themes like resilience, dreams, and hope in a compelling manner. This film serves as a poignant reminder that even in the most challenging circumstances, our aspirations and determination can bring us back to life.
The first 25 minutes of the film are all about understanding the basic knowledge that life is a roller coaster. In the following 20 minutes, starting from her opening all the containers, the details in those boxes say a lot about how life will continue, regardless of what's going on in the world. People will still buy those things.
The part where people are sinking in the next container is very profound. It's a nice storyline from the director. Having suicidal thoughts from the lady in the movie reflects the state of the world today, where people are taking their own lives instead of fighting through challenges.
Around the 39-minute mark, the movie delves into the concept of real love. At 43 minutes, it's a moment to respect every woman in this world; they are goddesses. Respect to all mothers in the world, as they hold strong while bringing new life into this world, whether by mistake or by plan.
Mia's performance is Oscar-worthy; she played her role so well that you might be carried away thinking it's real. The 50-minute mark shows how powerful parents and their children can work together, even though the younger generation often sees the future differently from the older one.
At 56 minutes, there's a gross but effective scene that reminds us of the reality of the world we live in. Her daughter and her husband's imagery scene is a powerful combination.
Every problem comes with a sign, and both the solution and the choice are right in front of you. This is exemplified by the scene of her pulling down the container at the 1-hour 8-minute mark.
The film presents a mix of stories, from self-harm and self-healing to having a child and using the blood to attract sharks in a bid to survive. Uma's death in the movie highlights how children today are often dying prematurely as they rush through life.
There's a deep spiritual aspect to the whale part, and the last 14 minutes contain a perfect line that encapsulates the movie's theme: "Start doing what you love, that's all you have left in this world."
Even when you think it's all over, in the middle of nowhere, your dream, your passion, your hope, your connections, everything you've got will kick in. This movie teaches us that, no matter how dire the circumstances, there's always a reason to keep going. "Nowhere" is a movie that everyone should watch, especially those who still believe in the future.
