Today, I had the opportunity to observe the students’ learning activities at the BC Networks Innovation Hub and I must say I am highly impressed by their conduct, sense of responsibility, and ethical use of technology. Their level of maturity in handling computers is commendable. I am also pleased to share that they are actively working on various IT projects, ranging from Python programming to Web Development and Data Analytics and they are making remarkable progress in

CyberSmart Kids Summer Coding BootCamp: Empower Your Child to become a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst * This Summer!
I’ve been really worried lately about how cyber-attacks are affecting young people and kids. There are some shocking facts that we must share with you.
Cyberattacks on kids: from October 2021 to March 2023... the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations received over 13,000 reports of online financial sextortion of minors. This horrific crime involved at least 12,600 victims—primarily boys—and devastatingly led to at least 20 suicides. (Source: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI))
This information left me in an uncomfortable state, indeed. While cybercriminals target various companies and individuals with diverse motives often for monetary extortion, they now target kids and teens!
Delving deeper into the term "sextortion" revealed its sheer brutality, which shook us as a research and learning firm Networks Innovation Hub . It's heart-wrenching to learn the cyber incidence cost 20 young lives.
This is happening due to lack of online child safety. As a parent myself, it makes one question for me, (we teach our kids countless things like how to cross the street and tie their shoes, etc. Ask this question to yourself...
Do you teach them how to protect themselves on Internet?). We are passionate to use our 15 years of cybersecurity knowledge and experience to help kids against cyber-attacks? So that they would be able to protect themselves in the cyber world and gain highly in demand Global Tech Skills.
