Day 2 of the WAPOR SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA Conference built strongly on the momentum of Day 1, with deeper conversations on the future of public opinion research, governance, media, and development in Africa.

The panel sessions featured rich perspectives from experts across Africa, Europe, and beyond.

Adewale Opawale, Managing Director of STREAM Insight shared compelling insights on “𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮” highlighting the importance of representativeness, contextual understanding, and rigorous methodology in ensuring credible public opinion research in Africa amid the rise of artificial intelligence.

Joy Obadoba shared revealing perspectives on “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘅 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴,” while 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮 explored “𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮.”

The conference ended on a vibrant note with a gala night, celebration of African culture, networking, and an award session, a fitting close to an inspiring gathering of researchers and thought leaders shaping the future of African research.

Bad data has no bias. It costs businesses, NGOs, government agencies and organizations equally across Africa.

The study covered urban centers and rural communities reflecting the diversity of consumer realities in-market.

Through face-to-face fieldwork engagements, we engaged directly with respondents in context, capturing lived realities as they are expressed, not just recorded.
