The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed the officially approved subject combinations for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), covering a total of 102 courses across sciences, engineering, social sciences, arts, education, and law-related disciplines.
The clarification is aimed at guiding prospective candidates as they finalise their course choices, amid recurring cases of admission denial caused by wrong subject combinations. Education stakeholders have repeatedly warned that even candidates with high UTME scores risk disqualification if their subject combinations do not align with JAMB and institutional requirements.
According to the approved guidelines, Use of English remains compulsory for all courses, while the other three subjects vary depending on the programme. Below is the complete list of the 102 acceptable JAMB subject combinations, as recognised for admission processing.
