A house belonging to a retired police chief and now the chief security officer to Kogi State University Anyigba, Mr Aurelius Yusuf Adejoh razed down by fire at about 11:30pm on Tuesday night in Lokoja,the capital city of Lokoja. The fire was said to have started from an AC in one of the bedrooms. The Federal Fire Service men who were contacted by the DPO of C Division Police Station in the estate(200 units Olobayo Housing Estate Lokoja) only came at about 30 minutes after the fire started and it was indeed very late to salvage the situation. They Fire Men ran out of water and had to go and refill only to come back 2 hours later. The good news is that no life was lost in the fire incident. An eye witness at the scene of incident said the fire was earlier detected by one of the kids who called the attention of the father who was still awake watching a program on television. He immediately cut the electricity supply to the house and started evacuating his family members.

WhatsApp INTRODUCES NEW PRIVACY SETTING THAT LET YOU STOP PEOPLE FROM ADDING YOU ANNOYING GROUPS WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION

Relief has arrived, in the form of a new WhatsApp privacy setting that lets you control who can add you to message groups without your permission.

The updated settings were first rolled out to Android and iOS WhatsApp users worldwide on Sunday November 3, 2019.

The new privacy settings can be enabled from within the settings page of the app itself, under the 'Account' > 'Privacy' > 'Groups' sections.

The menu provides three options for allowing group chat invitations — from 'Everyone', 'My Contacts' or 'My Contacts Except'.

'In those cases, an admin who can’t add you to a group will be prompted to send a private invite through an individual chat, giving you the choice of joining the group,' WhatsApp explained.

'You'll have three days to accept the invite before it expires.'

This setting replaced the 'Nobody' option included in the original version of the update, based on user feedback calling for more control over the blocks.

Group chat haters, however, can replicate the 'Nobody' configuration by picking 'My Contacts Except' and then using the 'Select All' option.
