This Monica movie really hit home for me… like 100%.
The weight that comes with being a firstborn is something only those in that position truly understand. You carry so much responsibility, expectations, sacrifice sometimes without even being asked how you’re doing.

I remember the last time my dad asked me, “kedu ihe ina emere m?” I didn’t even know whether to laugh or cry... To think I got so little growing up,to think that I had to always sacrifice for everyone to be okk,and he ask me that? For someone you gave so little and then expecting so much...That moment was a turning point for me. It made me realize that no matter how much you give, sometimes it’s never really seen or appreciated the way you expect.
That was the last straw. I made a decision to stop going beyond my limits for everyone. Now, my energy is for my own family my husband and my children. That’s where it truly matters.
Truth is, not everyone will value you the way you deserve. It’s always about them. And if they can’t value your effort, see how much you try, or appreciate your worth, then they don’t deserve it.
Not everything belongs on social media, but this movie carries a deep lesson: know your limits, protect your peace, and don’t lose yourself trying to please others.
