Which is more reliable -- PRIMARY or SECONDARY DATA?

Answer: Reliability of data is not usually a factor of whether it is acquired from primary or secondary sources.

It is the STUDY and/or researcher that determines what category (or combination) will best serve the objectives of the investigation.

What are the qualities of a GOOD RESEARCH?

1. A good research must be SYSTEMATIC, meaning the research must be structured in specific steps taken in sequential order and guided by well-defined set of rules,

2. A good research must be LOGICAL, meaning it must be guided by rules of logical reasoning,

3. A good research must be EMPIRICAL, meaning it must deal with concrete data that provides a basis for external validity, and

4. A good research must be REPLICABLE, meaning that it can be verified through the employ of same process.

If the study you're conducting fails in any of these, it's likely you aren't doing the right thing.
