📢 *JAMB Makes Admission-Status Disclosure Mandatory for All 2026 UTME Candidates*

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a new directive ahead of the 2026 UTME registration:
All candidates must now declare their current admission status before completing their UTME registration.

This policy, which takes effect immediately for the 2026 UTME cycle, aims to eliminate admission fraud, protect institutions, and ensure that candidates do not secure multiple admissions illegally.

🔍 *What Does “Admission-Status Disclosure” Mean?*

During the 2026 UTME registration, candidates will now be required to indicate whether:
* They have already been offered admission by any institution
* They have accepted an admission on JAMB CAPS
* They are currently students of any tertiary institution
* They previously had an admission but did not accept it
* They are seeking a fresh admission for another course or institution
* This information must be declared openly and honestly before a candidate can complete registration.

🎯 *Why JAMB Introduced This New Policy*
JAMB stated that the directive was necessary due to the rising cases of:
* Students securing multiple admissions without proper documentation
* Candidates abandoning previous admissions without formal communication
* Institutions admitting candidates who were already registered elsewhere
* Data conflicts when processing NYSC, transcripts, and graduation records

The policy is expected to tighten the admission process and help institutions track genuine admission seekers.
