-The Prayer

It is evident from His direct commission, down to the recorded way the early disciples did it, that the primary means that the Lord ordained for His people to take over their world, was:

Mingle with the people in the world and PREACH THE GOSPEL to everybody.

To the Lord and His early disciples, preaching the gospel in the world was enough to dethrone the demonic culture pervading the world. No man was to be exempted from receiving the gospel. - Mark 16:15.

ONE OBJECT:

Where prayer was involved in the commission, only one object was considered :

1- The object was NOT the demons inhabiting the places they were to preach.

2- The object was NOT the spirito-socio-political cm economic condition of the places they were to preach.

3- The object was NOT the people they were to preach to.

The ONLY object of prayer was THOSE TO PREACH. They only focused on praying for those to preach the gospel.

So:

TO THE LORD:

There was ONLY one prayer: For the LORD to thrust forth, send forth, labourers into the harvest field.

" Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; PRAY YE THEREFORE THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, THAT HE WILL SEND FORTH LABOURERS INTO HIS HARVEST."
Matthew 9:37‭-‬38 KJV

That was all.
No other prayer in that direction. Even in His recorded prayer, He said : " ...I DO NOT PRAY FOR THE WORLD... "-John 17:9

Yea! and there is no record of the Church praying for the world either. What the world needs is not prayer but the preaching of the gospel.

TO THE EARLY DISCIPLES :

Themselves were the object of their prayers. They prayed:

1- For God to grant them BOLDNESS, to preach in their cities in the face of threats. Not for God to deal with those that were threatening. - Acts 4:29.

2- For God to grant signs and wonders to accompany their preachings. -Acts 4:30.

3- For UTTERANCE to be granted them to open their mouth boldly and preach SENSE. -Eph6:19; Col 4:3.

4- For them to be delivered from the plottings and schemes of "unreasonable and wicked men"-2Thess 3:1-2.

' BUT PAUL told us to pray for all men and for kings in 1Timothy 2?'

Yes! But what prayer point did he give us for that? Where in all his travels and writings did he record any prayer for kings and for ALL men.?

So we should say "Father save all men "? Is that what will make them to be saved?

What should be our prayer? "Father thrust forth labourers into the harvest field. As they go, grant them boldness and utterance to preach your word clearly. Stretch forth your hand to confirm their words with signs, wonders and miracles. "

As kings and men are converted they will stop troubling our society and issuing stupid policies. Then we can lead a peaceable, godly and quiet lives in our cities.

Effective prayer is not borne out of human feelings, reason, or sense. It is solely founded on the inerrant word of God.

As Christians we cannot formulate our own pattern and content of prayer that run crosswise to God's revealled truth and expect Him to answer.

" Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
