Prayer before the Word:

TODAY’S TOPIC: God of the needy
Text: Psalm 113: 1-9 (NIV):
"113:1. Praise the LORD. Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
113:2. Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore.
113:3. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.
113:4. The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.
113:5. Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high,
113:6. who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?
113:7. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
113:8. he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people.
113:9. He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD."
SHOWER (Reflection):
Our God is most trusted in time of needy. Once you call on Him, He answers. Even a barren woman He listens to her prayers and grants her heart desires. Come to Him today and He will grant you your needs. We must praise Him for starting the week with us and sustaining it to this Friday.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Commitment and Praises
Text: 1 King's 8:54-65 (NIV):
"8:54. When Solomon had finished all these prayers and supplications to the LORD, he rose from before the altar of the LORD, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
8:55. He stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying:
8:56. "Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
8:57. May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our fathers; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
8:58. May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep the commands, decrees and regulations he gave our fathers.
8:59. And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day's need,
8:60. so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other.
8:61. But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.
8:62. Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the LORD.
8:63. Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the LORD: twenty-two thousand cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the temple of the LORD.
8:64. On that same day the king consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the LORD, and there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar before the LORD was too small to hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings8:65. So Solomon observed the festival at that time, and all Israel with him--a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. They celebrated it before the LORD our God for seven days and seven days more, fourteen days in all.
SHOWER (Reflection):
It is always right to have a day or more for praising God alone. It is also good to show commitment towards His calls or cause. King Solomon after winning many battles and other crowns, knelt down to praise God for great things He has done. This proves loyalty, commitment, respect and thankful to the giver of life. God has done many things to us but we often neglect or forget them. Let us learn to praise Him because that all He demands from us and He can even do without us but can't do without Him.
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS
1. I praise You all God for Your common and common Goodwill towards me. I thank You, I thank You, I thank You in Jesus name, Amen.
2. O God my father, as I praise You today, release more of your blessing upon me in Jesus name, amen.
3. As I step into a new week today, I shield myself in the precious blood of Jesus Christ to do exploit and escape the kindom of darkness in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Praise the God of wisdom
Text: Psalm 111:1-10 (NIV):
"111:1. Praise the LORD. I will extol the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
111:2. Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
111:3. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.
111:4. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
111:5. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.
111:6. He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations.
111:7. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
111:8. They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness.
111:9. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever--holy and awesome is his name.
111:10. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise."
SHOWER (Reflection):
Praises is an act of happiness, love and joy. You cannot praise praise when you are not happy. Generally, it is hard to praise an oppressor but someone whose works are excellence and worth it. Our God has more than this attributes. He is a wise God that gives out wisdom and wealth to all. May His name alone be praised in Jesus name, amen.
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS
1. O God my father, I praise you for making me to be living among the living today. Please help me to remain focus in You in Jesus name, Amen.
2. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I have overcome devil and his agents this week. I will rise from grace to grace in Jesus name, amen.
3. My father in the heaven, empower me to conquer and reap the fruits of my labour this week, in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Management of people
Text: Mark 14:1-10 (NIV):
14:1. Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him.
14:2. "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot."
14:3. While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the L***r, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
14:4. Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume?
14:5. It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly.
14:6. "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
14:7. The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.
14:8. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.
14:9. I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
14:10. Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them."
SHOWER (Reflection):
Management is a leadership position or assignment giving to us over ourselves, people and other things around us. God is given us an additional task today to take good care of or lead the people around us very well. First on the list, is God. God wants us to take care of ourselves in a way that it will glorify Him. That was why the woman, in this passage, did not only gave out her only costly oil but used her hair which supposed to be the most valuable asset , in cleaning Jesus. How much do you love God? What can you do to prove it? Another lesson from this passage, is giving to the poor, downtrodden, and vulnerable in society. Jesus is telling us that we must give out to them always. They are here for us to take good care of them. How do you carry on your charity works? You must also be at alert knowing the enemy is never at rest or drawing back on dealing with you.
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS
1. No matter what the enemy wants or say, I must volunteer my services to God and man to win the crown of eternity in Jesus name, Amen.
2. O God arise, puncture the enemy wherever it stands watching and angling to pull me down, Jesus name, amen.
3. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, I am unstoppable this month, my destined blessings must be upon me in Jesus name, Amen.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Be watchful but stand firm
Text: Mark 13:8-17 (NIV):
13:8. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
13:9. "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.
13:10. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
13:11. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
13:12. "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
13:13. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
13:14. "When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation' standing where it does not belong--let the reader understand--then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
13:15. Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out.
13:16. Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak.
13:17. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!"
SHOWER (Reflection):
Greetings, brethren. Welcome to a new and brightest month of October. Considering our today's message, we are encouraging you not to shake or wonder about the happenings of the world today. TODAY’S TOPIC: Seek spiritual gifts
Text: 1 Corinthians 14:1-10 (NIV):
14:1. Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
14:2. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
14:3. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
14:4. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
14:5. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.
14:6. Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?
14:7. Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes?
14:8. Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?
14:9. So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
14:10. Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning."
SHOWER (Reflection):
Do not rest until you get spiritual gifts. They are given freely by God to those who desire them. But the most important thing is using them for the sure purpose God wanted you to make use of them. God wants us to use whatever gift given to us to worship Him through evangelism, charity and living a righteous life.
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS
1. O God, my father, lift me higher above my equals in Jesus name, Amen.
2. Because You live O God, I shall not die but live to showcase God's goodness in my life, in Jesus name, amen.
3. Agenda of the enemy over my life the month of October, somersault and die, in Jesus name, Amen.
